Who is Milwaukee Table Tennis Club?
A volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit that has kept the sport growing in Milwaukee since 2004.
Milwaukee Table Tennis Club features 20+ high quality tables in two renovated gyms: one just minutes from downtown Milwaukee in Shorewood, and the other in West Milwaukee.
We also offer regular tournaments and coaching along with other programs. Members range from first-timers to nationally rated competitors, and everyone shares the same tables.
Our mission: to promote the life-long sport of table tennis; to provide athletic educational opportunities to a diverse youth population; to help players develop and advance their skills; and to provide opportunities for youth to obtain organizational skills and experience in managing the club.
The club is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Mike Grassel
President
As President of MTTC, Mike is dedicated to cultivating a positive and inclusive table tennis culture that serves the entire community. He emphasizes teamwork as a foundation for collective success and is committed to fostering new friendships, healthy competition, and a welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
John Schlegel
Vice President
John has been competing in table tennis for over 30 years and is a recently certified USATT coach. He’s played in tournaments across the country and is passionate about helping players grow. John joined the board and stepped into the VP role in 2025.
Duane Searles
Secretary
Duane began playing at MTTC regularly in 2008 with a USATT rating around 1200. After switching to a long pips backhand, his rating climbed to nearly 2000. Following his retirement from UPS, Duane joined the Board as Secretary in 2024 and actively supports the club’s day-to-day operations.
Jered Shilling
Treasurer
Jered has played casually since childhood, competitively since 2013, and has coached since 2018. He is a strong advocate for the sport and happy to donate his time to encourage growth and improvement in our table tennis community.
